Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 28, 2026

PaperFix AI (“PaperFix,” “we,” “our”) is an iOS app that helps you understand bills, letters, notices, screenshots, and PDFs by turning them into plain-English summaries. This page explains what data the app touches and how that data is handled.

What the app does with your documents

When you scan or upload a photo, screenshot, or PDF, PaperFix sends the document — or the text we extract from it — to one or more third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) so it can be analyzed and summarized. The provider returns a structured summary back to the app.

We use these providers under their commercial APIs, where customer data is not used to train their public models by default. We may change providers over time; we'll update this page when we do.

Where saved results live

Saved summaries and the documents you analyze are stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage (AsyncStorage). They are not synced to PaperFix's servers. If we ever add an optional cloud sync, we'll update this page first and ask you to opt in.

What we don't do

What we collect

Heads up. Please don't upload documents you consider highly sensitive unless you're comfortable with them being processed by a third-party AI provider. If a document involves legal, medical, tax, or financial matters that need strict confidentiality, talk to a qualified professional instead.

Children

PaperFix is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app.
